Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes, I love horror for its ability to tackle subjects we find taboo or forbidden in everyday life. Perhaps I was extremely repressed as a child, and now I love the ability to revel in the transgressive nature of horror and use it as a tool for self discovery. Some of my favorites are The Exorcist, The Shining, Carnival of Souls, Climax, Mandy, and Funny Games.​

Who or what is the biggest influence in your film making?

 

My films are immersed in the psychological shadow. Creating usually follows triggering thoughts and self inspection. As a child, I was neglected, so I am often working from the narrative of the Other, and the abject. Generally, I make films to experience catharsis and confront the hypocrisy of society, and hopefully that resonates with fellow othered-individuals.
