A Little Bit About The Artist

A Statement From The Artist

Morticia is a Leeds based artist and historian who is interested in uncovering hidden histories, uncanny pasts and untold stories. Starting with the idea that physical spaces act as recording devices she makes work inspired by Victorian era cemeteries, nineteenth century gothic fiction and mourning customs across the ages, to create the work she uses a range of vintage film cameras, low resolution digital cameras, analogue and digital processes.
