A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
Lily seeks to explore her artistic expression through images that arrive from the subconscious. Inspired by the magic of nature and a sense of joy in bright colours, she is drawn to finding beauty in the unusual. Lily’s work often contains opposing elements. These elements are sometimes conceptual, but often they’re material or image-based. Texture and a sense of the tactile are important in her experience of life and this is reflected in her work. Her practice is driven by experimentation with a wide range of materials and processes. Recently, this includes traditional craft techniques such as natural dyeing, spinning yarn and ceramics. In 2022 her debut solo exhibition was composed of paintings, screen prints, sculpture, and a drypoint etching plate installation. Currently, she is developing a collection of jewellery based objects inspired by natural forms, made from porcelain and chainmaille.
