A Little Bit About The Artist
My name is Jade Clarke and I am a mixed media installation artist. I have recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a Fine Art degree. Through sharing personal narratives, I aim to spark conversation on uncomfortable subject matters such as mental health. I have a curiosity and fascination with the meaning of life, the universe and everything. There are no definitive answers to my burning questions and this both frightens and excites me simultaneously.
In my practice I use a variety of mediums and materials such as painting, embroidery, crochet, pipe cleaners, beads and buttons. My making process involves collecting discarded objects and materials that become the catalyst of my ideas, as an artist it’s important to me that I reuse and recycle.
Inspired by children's puppets, from TV shows that I now find unsettling, I often put a dark twist on childlike themes. I would describe my artwork as creepy, crafty and colourful.
