One of the images in a small series where i explored the bizarre acceptance of reality in dreams, as i find in dreams regardless of how strange the event of the dream are most often you don't think to even question the reality of the dream. i want to explore the is strange stat of calmness of not consciously knowing you are dreaming but the emotional attachment of its safety.

This is a portrait of an interactive sculpture that i exhibited in 2024, their name is Frank. __Frank's backstory______ Frank is an interactable biographical sculpture that represents my personal journey coming to terms with my gender identity. My intention of the work would be not only to express my own feeling about my personal gender identity but also create an interactive experience to invite people into the discussion of gender identity and to communicate to those who are going though similar experiences. These themes are shown in Franks appearance and how Frank is interacted with by an audience. Frank's bazar and sometimes unsettling appearance at first creates discomfort but as the interaction continues the Frank becomes more enjoyable and friendly (purring, meowing and integrating with peoples touch) . The relationship between the viewer and the subject is symbolic of my own personal experience, of a first being uncomfortable to questioning my own feelings about gender to now being more comfortable both having these discussions and with myself. My other aim for the work is to also represent as disuses about how gender identity can be intimidating both to someone who is going through exploring their identity and too someone who wants to learn and understand. I aim for the sculpture to be symbolic of these worries but also put them at ease, as I have found these discussion that I was once afraid to have brought comfort and joy to both myself and the people around me.

A Statement From The Artist
In my work I use a range of digital mediums and Analog processes to create surrealist and abstract visual narratives. I have fascination with the surrealist aesthetic which stems from my desire that my own work conveys the same reaction in an audience to a ‘cabinet of curiousness’ that sense of macabre and bazar curiosity that promotes self-reflection. However I often approach this with a biographical angle as I explore subjects such as gender identity, inner conflict and mental health. I achieve these themes by obscure my own emotions and thoughts through a mix of both practical and digital distortion techniques and manipulation programs. My aim of making a performance of these emotions is to communicate to people who can relate their own experiences to the narratives depicted or to make people question their perception of both the world around them and themselves.
