The Neverending Hallway

A woman stuck in a train tunnel after work. It's been minutes? Hours? It's been a longtime since she has seen another person. The tunnel is old and bright with fluorescent light. All she can do is trudge forward and hope for the opening to escape.

A Little Bit About The Artist

A Statement From The Artist

I go by Hycascripta or Hyca for short. I love horror and folklore in all mediums, but especially in art.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes! I love Perfect Blue, Candyman, and The Silence of the Lambs.

Who or what is the biggest influence in your practice?

My biggest influence is mostly horror and folklore, specificall mexican folklore but I love to research folklore all around the world. Both have always been a constant influence in my life ever since I was a child. I was apart of a Mexican folklore dance group when I was younger and learning the stories and histories of the dances I performed egged me to research and create art of it. Horror is just a general genre I've grown to appreciate. From the movies to the YouTube videos, I love watching and analyzing horror. The Horror genre has a way of expressing the deep fears of the artist whether they mean to or not. I find that fascinating and beautiful.
