This work was inspired by own drawings of a castle as a child, combined with later influences from gothic art and film.

A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
My work explores nostalgia, emotional attachment and identity through a variety of mediums including graphite, ink, acrylic, lino, mixed media and zines. I aim to reflect the ways we project identity and value onto objects, places, and experiences and how they carry memory and sentimental connection. I am inspired heavily by personal experience and the psyche, particularly childhood memories, as well as film and antiquities. A common influence and motif within my work is lace textiles. Stemming from childhood memories of lace curtains and tablecloths at my grandparents house, I intend to highlight and appreciate the masterful artistry and design intricacies necessary to create the textile. These influences shape my interest in how we form deep bonds with objects, images and places of the past, where beauty and vulnerability co-exist, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own attachments, experiences and psyche.
