A Little Bit About The Artist

A Statement From The Artist

In my teens, I was a weird girl that didn't really know what I was until reading Otsuichi's novel, Goth Wristcut Case. This was how I picked my illustrator name, Gothic. For the first time I found comfort and comprehension in that dark eerie silence, and Gothic become part of my art since. Deeply influenced by Japanese manga, classic children literature, and Victorian mourning culture, my inkworks started as little melancholy dreamlands for myself to escape reality; then it slowly grow into something bigger that I want to share with those whom that can connect and relate to my experience in solitary.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes; but no splatter horror films, only the mystery type. The Others (2001) is the first one I in love with, and most recent one is Nosferatu (2024).

What's is your biggest influence for your practice?

Japanese manga.
