Georgia Green

Kettle's Yard
2022
Sustainably printed Risograph edition
14.8 x 21cm (unframed), 22 x 30cm (framed)

As a printmaker Georgia uses her art to unravel the interiors and landscapes she moves through and lives within. She dissolves and dramatises everyday rooms and corridors, questioning notions of intimacy, belonging and confinement through the glaze of domesticity. The subject in Kettle's Yard is lifted from a memory of sunlight filling the living room in a gallery-house in Cambridge of the the same name.

A Little Bit About The Artist
What is your favourite style of painting and why?
As a printmaker I am a huge fan of risography/riso. The unique was each colour layer is translated on to paper using a fine dither-dot reminds me of the grainy nostalgic feel colourful old film photos have. I find it such a cosy and cheerful medium.

What’s your favourite Movie or Tv show?
Buffy / Pushing Daisies / Gilmore Girls / X Files / Stranger Things

What’s the biggest influence on your work?
The places I visit often end up in my prints, I am always stopping to take pictures of natural light falling through windows or nice interiors. I have a little collection of them stashed for future design inspiration.
