Sacrifice

2025

These images come from my project How to Become a God, an exploration of the desire to have more control over the uncontrollable, using the metaphor of a human trying to become a god to explore this desire. This struggle to become this imagined god is vengeful and complex, and this is reflected in the dark undertones of the images, often feeling threatening. I took inspiration from folklore, religion and a number of horror films to build my world and I hope it is one that the viewer lets themself enter and explore.

A Little Bit About The Artist

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes I do, one of my top films is Cabin in the Woods (2011), I love that it is a horror while still being fun and a bit over the top.

Who's your fave Final Girl and why?

My favourite Final Girl is probably Kaylie Russel from Oculus (2013) as the film was one of the first proper horror films I watched as a kid and I thought she was so bad ass (and still do).

What is the biggest influence in your practice?

My biggest influence in my practice is probably my personal experience, that is what so much of my work is drawn from - personal experiences I then twist and heighten. In terms of artists I especially love Pia Guilmoth and Ada Marino Diplama, I think their work is so beautiful and emotive and they consistently inspire me.
