The ‘Me and Myself’ and “First and Final Meeting’, series of pictures and video respectively, a meeting between me and my future self, as I embark on unmasking my ‘human’ traits, nervous and protective, but free. Finally, ‘Have you seen this creature?’ Is another short video, shows posters I had put up around my local area, along with a sighting of the ‘creatures’ in question. These works are midway through part of a larger series of work I am creating. It’s aim is to get people more involved with contextual work, as well as, Post-Humanism and Transhumanism as concepts.

A Little Bit About The Artist
Ellie Parker
My work aims to explore the relationship between neurodiversity, the Post-Human, and, on occasion, technology. It is a personal investigation into the isolation I feel from the term ‘human’, and a way to recreate and reimagine myself without human constraints and expectations. What has the human category done to serve anyone who doesn’t perfectly meet its criteria? It has caused them more harm than good in the treatment they have received. Being neurodivergent I become alien to the term and the social understandings that come with it. So, why be loyal to ‘human’? Through my work I slowly evolve into another being, a rabbit-like creature free from the human condition. As the work progresses, I aim to bring others with me and take them speeding, on a weird, strange, post-human journey through my alien brain.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Yes!! My current favourite is ‘The First Omen’, but I am partial to the first insidious movie because I like the two paranormal investigators with all the tech.
