Tell us about a dream you've had.

Well I am gonna share a long story here. 😂
I was at a physical education lesson before I went to the edge of a cliff to see others having gym classes at the bottom of a valley. There were two male students beside me, they were my classmates in the middle school. Those people in the gym class were doing spinning, I talked to one of my classmates, saying: “I think they should be athletes because their movements are pretty standard!” After a while I thought the cliff is so high and looks dangerous, so I left there and looked for a toilet. When I left, I heard those boys laughed at me for being timid. I met a female student, who is also my middle school classmate, and she went with me. We finally found one, but we had to pay some money to got in. The sanitary conditions there was awful---the ground was wet, rubbish everywhere and all the facilities were dirty. I was wearing a pair of wide-legged trousers, to prevent them from touching the wet ground, I rolled up the trouser legs.

What's your favourite movie or tv show?

Spirited Away directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

What is your biggest influence on your practice?

A strong desire to play with materials and visual languages. Many of my works are inspired by materials or visual symbols, I always take inspiration from them and make connections between my own story and these materials, and ultimately compose them into my work with my art language.
