Counting Sheep
50cm x 60cm
£150
I made ‘Counting Sheep’ when I was struggling to pick a path to follow and so many things were whirling around my head at night. For me, its a visual representation of all the possibilities and dreams a young woman has for her future.
A Little Bit About The Artist
A Statement From The Artist
Hi! I'm Gabby, a Sheffield based mixed media artist. Through my work, I explore themes of girlhood and femininity. Celebrating the strength and beauty of being a woman, and connecting with my inner child.
I have always been an artistic person and had such a love for art, especially when I was a little girl and there were absolutely no expectations or explanations behind what I created. Being creative as a child is where my love of art was born, so in my work I try to channel my inner child, remembering the way creating art made me feel! Having struggled with severe anxiety for over 10 years, I find that making art is something that helps me cope. Taking time to be creative and express your thoughts and feelings visually is so important. My ultimate goal is that, by sharing my story, other women can relate to the themes of my work & hopefully it inspires them to get creative too!
Tell us about a dream you've had.
Absolutely nothing to do with this piece whatsoever, but i don’t remember my dreams anymore :(( so the only one i can remember from being a child is me hanging out with this giant, high heel wearing dalmatian???
