“Burning Hot” is a body caught somewhere amidst its transformation. Flesh turned red and ember, it exists in a state that shouldn’t be possible. The faceless, headless figure - all heat and motion, seems to be trying to escape itself, or maybe summon something from within. The arms are pulled wide like wings, yet stiff and statue like. I painted this while thinking about passion and pain, and the blur between them - trying to capture the fire we carry. Sometimes, what feels haunting or painful can be the very thing that defines the passion burning inside us.
