A Little Bit About The Artist

A Statement From The Artist

As a multi-disciplinary artist and illustrator my practice explores the surreal, and the unconscious through folklore and creatures of myth, particularly those of medieval imaginations. Here I was inspired by depictions of classical demons, a birdlike creature looming over the lady in her unconscious dreams, a nightmare taking place with no way out. Esotericism, gothic iconography , monsters and all things strange, drive my desire to create.

Do you like scary movies? And if so which ones?

Scary movies are my top film genre,i especially like those which explore elements of folklore and creature features although ,I am partial to a classic slasher flick. Some stand outs from the top of my head would have to be, The Hallowed,The VVitch and Alien.

What's is your biggest influence for your practice?

The biggest influence of my practice is the macabre ,the surreal and folklore as it allows me to really express my imagination and the complexities of human existence and narratives.

Tell us about an exhibition that inspired you recently?

Whilst not an exhibition ,i have been reading about depictions of the monstrous feminine in film and this has inspired me to include more representations of female monsters in my practice.
